Latar Belakang dan Tujuan

Undang-Undang ini dibentuk sebagai bentuk persetujuan dan penerimaan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia terhadap Charter of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). Langkah ini diambil menyusul partisipasi wakil Republik Indonesia dalam Third Conference of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Council di Singapura pada bulan Februari 1968, di mana wakil Indonesia turut menandatangani piagam tersebut.

Ketentuan Substansial

Secara substansial, Undang-Undang ini menetapkan pengesahan resmi atas piagam SEAMEO yang dilampirkan dalam dokumen undang-undang tersebut. Selain itu, undang-undang ini memberikan mandat kepada Pemerintah untuk mengatur lebih lanjut hal-hal yang belum atau belum cukup diatur dalam undang-undang ini melalui Peraturan Pemerintah.

Considering / Whereas:

that from 6 to 8 February 1968 the Republic of Indonesia sent its representatives to attend the Third Conference of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Council in Singapore;
that as a result of the conference, the Charter of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization has been created;
that the representatives of the Republic of Indonesia also participated in signing the charter;
that in connection with letters a to c above, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia has no objection to approving and accepting the charter.
